Elephant Hills
Combining the camp idea of African national parks with the Thai tropical rainforest, Elephant Hills are Thailand’s first luxury tented jungle camps and highly recommended.
Tucked away in the jungle of Khao Sok National Park are the Elephant Camp and floating Lake Camp. Both are within easy reach of numerous beach resorts, making it easy to take a detour into the wilderness.

Northern Thailand
Oozing atmosphere and culture, Northern Thailand is an absorbing region where the landscape, language, architecture, food and people are all quite distinct.
Chiang Mai, the “Rose of the North”, is the region’s hub and a blissfully laidback place to hang out or use as a base. For those seeking a cultural fix, the narrow winding lanes of the old city quadrangle house over 30 Lanna-style temples including the imposing Wat Chedi Luang and impressive Wat Phra Singh, while outside the city walls lies the mountain-top Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a must-see in Chiang Mai.
Bangkok
Fascinating, intoxicating and chaotic, Bangkok deserves at least 48 hours to experience its temples, palaces, markets, malls and street food.
Undoubtedly the city’s must-see landmark is the dazzling Grand Palace complex, a former royal residence now used for ceremonial occasions. Amidst the gold-spired temples, courtyards and manicured gardens is the notable Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the highly revered Emerald Buddha, meticulously carved from jade.
Hua Hin & Cha Am
Equally popular with young couples and families, tourists and Thais (including the royal family), Hua Hin’s three miles of attractive powdery sands are flanked by good value hotels, luxury resorts and world-renowned spas. After dark, enjoy some friendly bartering at the vibrant night market, be tempted by the countless food stalls and retreat to a sophisticated wine bar or casual music venue.
While Cha Am may not rival Hua Hin for facilities, it has a long casuarina-lined beach, calm turquoise waters, a laid-back air and is highly regarded for its succulent seafood.
Kui Buri is half an hour’s drive south of Hua Hin and is a peaceful, underdeveloped area home to numerous fishing villages and a gorgeous stretch of virgin beachfront.
