Sydney
Seductively draped around its harbour and beaches, Sydney has a striking waterfront setting. Graced by the impressive steel arch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the pearly sails of the Sydney Opera House, the sparkling harbour is one of the world’s most photographed sites.
Perth

Smack bang in the middle of the city is Perth’s pride and joy, King’s Park and Botanic Garden, a huge expanse of unique bushland, tranquil parkland and botanic garden. Here also, is the Lotterywest Federation Walkway which leads to a spectacular treetop steel and glass bridge.
Visit vibrant Barrack Square for the towering rocket-like glass spire of the Bell Tower, one of the world’s largest musical instruments; and look no further than the Perth Cultural Centre, a pedestrianised zone full of galleries and gardens for a fantastic one-stop culture fix.
Darwin
The tropical capital of the Northern Territory is a small yet cosmopolitan city, which sits beside a larger harbour, twice the size of Sydney's and offers plenty for travellers to see and do. Chairs and tables spill out of street-side restaurants, innovative museums celebrate the past and galleries showcase the region's rich indigenous art.
Much of Darwin's action happens along its revitalised waterfront, which is lined with restaurants, shops, sandy lagoons and parklands.
Cairns
Capital of the Tropical North the cosmopolitan city of Cairns is framed by a backdrop of rainforest mountain ranges and is the perfect base for every activity you could imagine – on land, in the air or below the sea.
No trip to Cairns is complete without visiting the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef system. Numerous day cruises head out and give you the opportunity to snorkel and dive among vivid coral gardens and colourful fish.
Singapore
Founded in 1819 as a tax-free port by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, Singapore is an effortlessly sophisticated city with a dizzying assortment of attractions packed into its characterful districts. Its appeal also springs from its multi-cultural population, a mixture of Chinese, Malay and Indian, which can make a short walk across town feel like a hop from one country to another.
Talking of which, getting around couldn’t be easier thanks to Singapore’s compact size and sleek public transport system, the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), which enables you zip around the city without fuss.
