For isolated beaches, prime dive spots and jagged rainforest-clad mountains, Krabi ticks all the boxes.
Nestling majestically beside the Andaman Sea, Krabi is one of Thailand’s most attractive provinces. It’s where small islands erupt from the sea and secluded bays, beaches and coves are only accessibly by colourful longtail boats.
Popular Ao Nang is the centre of Krabi’s tourist scene. A mix of beaches, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops, it’s a great base for water-related activities and excursions by longtail boats to off-shore islands. Fifteen minutes north are Klong Muang’s powdery sands where the well-established village has a few shops and simple restaurants.
Accessible only by boat, Phra Nang and Railay are...

Krabi has a tropical monsoon climate. The best time to visit is November through to March when the humidity is lower. The hottest periods of the year are April to May and September to October, while the wettest months are September and October. However, even during the rainy season, there are still long intervals of sunshine between the short heavy downpours.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Krabi. Fly to Bangkok and then take an onward flight to Krabi, which takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. Alternatively, travel by road from Phuket, which would take around 2 hours 30 minutes.
