Jabal Akhdar (meaning ‘green mountain’ in Arabic) is part of the Hajar Mountains in the north of Oman and soars 6,560 feet above sea level. Full of natural beauty, the extraordinary scenery includes rugged peaks, steep gorges, caves, canyons and spectacular terraced villages. The Mediterranean-like climate makes the region ideal for cultivating fruit and vegetables, and is particularly known for walnuts, pomegranates and damask roses which bloom from March to May, covering the mountain side in pink hues.
It’s a haven for adventure travellers, nature lovers and those seeking a sumptuous retreat. Activities include nature walks, hiking trails, mountain biking, rock climbing and off-road drives along with archery and mountain-top yoga. After dark, thanks to no light...

This region enjoys a refreshing year round climate and usually has lower temperatures than those of Muscat, particularly in winter. The cooler summer temperatures make it a great place to escape the soaring heat of the beach and desert regions.
A visa may be required. Please ask for details.
