Situated 18 miles off Malaysia’s north west coast, Langkawi comprises 99 islands, of which only five are inhabited. The main island, Pulau Langkawi is fringed with picture-postcard beaches, while its scenic interior is a peaceful landscape of paddy fields, sprawling rubber plantations and small villages. Popular Cenang Beach, on the south western corner, has fine sands shelving gently towards the enticing waters; Burau Bay provides an idyllic setting for doing as little as possible; while north coast Datai Bay tempts with an exclusive stretch of sands.
A top island attraction is the Langkawi SkyCab (cable car) and SkyBridge, both accessed from Oriental Village. The exhilarating experience begins with a steep ascent by cable car over rainforest, lush valleys, waterfalls...
