As nostalgic English cottages, rose gardens and mock-Tudor mansions appeared, British planters realised the potential for growing tea on the fertile mountain slopes. Today, the Cameron Highlands character remains unchanged with visitors able to sample the local produce and a fresh brew, or relax over afternoon tea in this quintessentially British corner of Malaysia.

The region enjoys a cool climate and fresh air, with temperatures fluctuating between 22-25ºC during the day and 15-22ºC at night. Rain is common throughout the year although more frequent from November-February.
Cameron Highlands can only be reached by road. Journey time from Kuala Lumpur is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes while from Penang it will take approximately 4 hours.
