is to step out on a hike and Lake Louise has year-round trails for all ability levels, from an easy short stroll to a rigorous mountaintop trek. Alternatively, hire a bike and take the family for a spin along the lake, or climb as many hills as your legs can manage and pedal amongst towering peaks. The lake is usually frozen from mid-November creating a magical wonderland and doesn’t completely thaw until early June. From late June-early September the lake’s famous intense turquoise colour emerges, while in autumn the trees produce radiantly coloured leaves.
Lake Louise is about 40 minutes drive from Banff or 2 hours from Calgary.
