Cairns experiences two distinct weather seasons, winter between April and September with slightly cooler but warm temperatures and minimal rainfall; and summer from October to March, with hot sticky temperatures and heavy periods of rainfall, although this generally occurs overnight.
Cairns is about 21 hours from the UK (with a stopover). From Cairns, it’s a 30 minute drive to Palm Cove or an hour’s drive to Port Douglas.
